Rolta Launches Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) and Computer-Aided Dispatch System for Emergency Services

Mumbai, December 2, 2002: Rolta India Limited, India's premier CAD/CAM and GIS solutions and services provider, today announced the launch of Rolta AVL and Dispatch System - which helps in computer aided dispatch of emergency vehicles to the scene of an incident. This state of the art system will help agencies involved in emergency services like the Police, Ambulance and Fire Department to efficiently direct their teams to the scene of the incident as soon as it is reported.
Rolta Dispatch system is a suite of customised software and services designed for handling emergency calls which are recieved at a Control Room. This automated system displays location of events as they are reported on a map. The same map also provides "minute to minute" display of emergency vehicles out in the field. Thus the Control Room can dispatch a vehicle closest to an event, to speedily reach the scene of the incident and resolve the emergency. Every day Police, Ambulance and Fire Departments respond to numerous distress calls from citizens in crisis, Rolta AVL and Dispatch System will greatly enhance the capability of Emergency services to respond to distress calls.
