Rolta Offers Cutting-Edge Geoimaging Technologies to Serve Global Markets
Mumbai – Rolta today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement with PCI Geomatics Enterprises, Inc. of Canada, whereby Rolta has acquired licenses with perpetual rights to the complete portfolio of PCI’s geo-imaging technologies, including source code, design and software architecture exclusively for India and non-exclusively throughout the rest of the world. PCI is a market leader in the geoimaging segment, with an installed base of 400 licenses in India, and over 21,000 licenses in more than 135 countries world-wide.
In combination with Rolta’s own offerings in photogrammetric mapping and related applications, Rolta will now be able to offer world-class solutions for processing stereo and mono satellite imagery in areas such as environmental modeling, forestry and natural resources, emergency planning and management, agriculture, security and defense. Further, this comprehensive technology agreement provides Rolta with access to ongoing and future PCI research and development, as well as new products and technology innovations. Rolta has also purchased all assets of PCI Geomatics India Pvt Ltd, and has acquired exclusive perpetual rights for these technologies and its customers in the Indian subcontinent.
Over the past few years, Rolta has established a robust product development organization which has successfully developed numerous geospatial products and solutions for defense and other markets, such as the Rolta Automatic Change Detection – a sophisticated solution that enables users, especially for defense applications, to automatically analyze differences between two sets of imagery for strategic and tactical decision-making. With the licensing of PCI Geomatics’ technology stack under this and certain earlier agreements, Rolta will be able to jump-start development of additional state-of-the-art imaging solutions that will augment its portfolio of offerings in the geospatial space, further strengthening Rolta’s solid reputation in this field worldwide. Rolta will develop solutions using core PCI Geomatics/Rolta technologies for release globally. Key products that Rolta is now releasing into the market in India and as part of Rolta solutions throughout the rest of the world are:
- Rolta Geomatica: a suite of integrated desktop software products that features remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, geospatial analysis, map production, mosaicking and automated production systems capabilities.
- Rolta GeoImaging Accelerator: a suite that provides a significant improvement in speed and efficiency through improved data handling, and distributed multi-threaded processing. By optimizing and automating workflows, traditional image-processing is elevated to industrial-strength production with phenomenal results – as much as 60 to 80 times faster than traditional processes – especially suited to needs of near real-time processing for applications in disaster management and defense.
- Rolta GeoConference: a web-based suite of products that provides an interactive environment and common workspace for users to share maps, images and to exchange geospatial information in real time. Since everyone is able to look at the same georeferenced map, geospatial intelligence can effectively and easily be integrated into various decision-making processes.
